Downloaded ts file with no sound

Hi Curlys right, it is a codec issue, if you open the link below you will get an explanation into why you have this problem. However you can download a codec to correct the problem if I am reading the article correctly, hope that this helps. Can someone give me a straight answer how to get audio to play on HD video of.

TS files on windows media player NO other player I am interested in using I want to backup some of my recordings from my DreamBox satellite receiver onto my laptop but need to know if the sound will also be there too, I've never had any bother on my PC which I don't use now with the.

Last edited: Dec 10, Just installed something called ac3filter, still no sound as of yet. Just weird how a 7 year old laptop and PC can play all types of. TS files with different audio options but a brand new Toshiba i7 laptop with full HD and 3D support will only play a few. This is going in circles. Did you find the url '. Read carefully the messages of mister ponens. The only thing I can think of that might effect the ability to fast forward is the keyint setting used by the encoder. If it's too large maybe the player refuses to seek. That's just a thought and may be totally wrong, but you could check with MediaInfo , assuming they're all encoded with x, to see if the keyint setting varies much. Someone else may come along with more clever ideas The problem is both streams are VFR mode Convert to CBR before any other process.

Not that MediaInfo is necessarily getting it right, but You could test by opening one of the problem files as I suggested earlier to remux it, but you could also remux it a second time while specifying a frame rate. If you specify a frame rate, the output will be constant frame rate.

Both streams being variable bitrate shouldn't matter. It might, but I doubt it. Chances are it's the "few programs" you used for converting giving you a type of different output that's the problem.

Which ones did you try? Some support VFR output, some don't. Muxing copies the existing video and audio streams and puts them in a different container, or the same container, but they're just copied. Re-encoding creates new video and audio streams because they're re-encoding. Remuxing won't effect the quality. Re-encoding will reduce the quality often not enough to see, but in theory at least, it always does.

If after you re-encode it does fast forward that also points to the same thing as the re-encoded version would have used different encoder settings and obviously settings that allow your player to fast forward could be it converted to a constant frame rate, or it could be something else. Likewise if you take a video that does fast forward and remux it as MKV or MP4 and either of the new versions don't fast forward, then it points to it being a problem with the way the MKV or MP4 is muxed, and not a problem with the video itself.

All you can really do is remux and re-encode and try to work out why through trial and error. Similar Threads Synchronize video from 1.
