Set up a new disk on Windows 10 or 8. As we know, MBR and GPT are two different ways of storing partitioning information, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. In general, GPT is seen as the future which is meant to improve upon the limitations of MBR including the storage limitations.
However, many users still prefer MBR over GPT because it is still the most compatible and is still necessary in some cases. Windows inbuilt tools including Windows Disk Management and Windows Command Prompt are free conversion methods, only note that such conversion manners will cause a complete data loss.
Compared with Disk Management and Command Prompt, it won't require a volume deletion thus no data loss would occur during the operation. Therefore, it is the safest and most reliable way that should come to the first place.

To free convert MBR disk to GPT disk via this tool, you need to first delete all partitions on the target MBR disk to make it an unallocated disk space, then you can complete this conversion.
Right-click on each partition on the disk you want to convert and select " Delete Volume " to clean the disk. Step 3. After this, you can restore the data you backed up beforehand to this GPT disk. Select the option to create bootable disk and then follow the wizard to complete it. Everything will stay the old ways, the data, the operating system won't be effected by the converting disk to gpt when you run the Partition Resizer in a bootable WinPE mode.
Step 4 - After the software load the disk map, right click the disk that includes the boot volume, go to option 'Convert GPT'. Confirm the changes, and the disk will be converted to gpt without losing files or making damages to the boot volume.
